An actress specializing and active in Commercials and Voice-Overs
A seasoned performer in Film, Television and Theatre
Experience also includes Spokesperson and Commercial Print
Joan works part time and very flexible hours at Vassar College at the POWERHOUSE THEATER
as House Manager/Publicity Director for the Drama Department.
This position gives her the opportunity to commit to performing projects.
Joan is a seasoned actress specializing in on-camera work as well as voice-overs for commercials, radio and animation for film and television. Her voice can be heard on the recently filmed documentary for Dutchess Community College and radio spots ranging from Shapers Beauty Supply, Newsday, and for Breast Cancer Awareness. Her narration and delivery of the famous poetry from Edgar Allan Poe has been captured on two CD’s, called The Poe Project, which Joan also helped to produce.
Recently added to Joan’s credits is a television pilot where she co-hosts an entertainment television show, JBE-TV. She can be seen as a principal performer in commercials such as Joblink, Nanny’s USA and PC Richard & Sons.
Joan currently has finished work on two Vassar College student films,“Deer River Farm” and “Anisometropia”, which is being suggested for an upcoming film festival in Los Angeles.
While Joan prefers commercial and voice over work she has spent several years honing her craft in the theatre as a performer for main stage performances, “The Nerd” and “Pack of Lies” were among her favorites. She enjoyed participating in educational performances such as “Diary of Anne Frank” and “Addict” for young theatre audiences.
Joan owes her credits above, included in her demo reels, and expressed in her resumes to gaining exposure to the industry through her early days as a print model and moving into film and TV as a background player and bodydouble. She has been seen in several swimsuit ads such as the cover of Swimsuit Magazine, lingerie catalogs, and product commercial print ads ranging from pharmaceutical and shampoo ads.
While Joan was discovering her passion for the industry she gained a well-rounded resume within the business. She has a taste for many facets of the business but still maintains that ON CAMERA Commercials and Voice Overs are her specialized talent.
Joan continued to pursue her goals by staying active in between auditions and training. Joan had worked at several tradeshows with improvisational scripts as a live spokesperson for demonstrations at the Javits Center and Nassau Colliseum as well as Las Vegas and Los Angeles Convention centers. Such clients include car shows, Children’s expo, Toyfair and Lifetime television events.
A DVD of her performances and a CD of her voice over talent can be mailed to you per your request, and as well as samples on this site. Also provided are highly regarded recommendations letters.
Joan is currently not with exclusive representation and would be happy to negotiate with an agency and build a relationship with an agency and it's casting directors.
